Generations of Care

The Farmer Family settled in the Athens area over 200 years ago. For generations they lived off the land as actual farmers, using just what they needed to sustain their families. Today, Leon Farmer and Company holds the same respect for the environment and communities in which we do business.

Environment

In 2009 we completed a comprehensive upgrade of our electrical and lighting systems, which has led to substantial energy savings. As our sales and fleet vehicles age, we source more fuel-efficient replacements to reduce carbon emissions. We actively work with local recycling companies to minimize waste at our facilities, and support local Keep America Beautiful programs throughout our territory to promote clean communities through resources and education.

Decide to Ride

Responsibility

Leon Farmer & Company is committed to the responsible and legal consumption of its products. We work closely with our brewing partners, retailers, local stakeholders and community leaders to deliver programs and solutions that address a wide range of alcohol issues. It is our belief that by working together we can all make a difference.

Designating a driver is a key element of enjoying responsibly and we encourage everyone to plan ahead. In addition to supporting Anheuser-Busch’s Decide to Ride program, we partner with safe ride services during football season and other special events.

Education Through Experience

Each year Leon Farmer and Company partners with an inspirational speaking partner who visits grade schools, colleges and universities to share important messages with young people about responsibility. ER nurse Linda Dutil, whose impactful program “A Dose of Reality” is based on her first hand experiences in the emergency room, presents age-appropriate information about drugs and alcohol as well as how to make good choices.

As part of our community outreach efforts, Leon Farmer and Company sponsors Nurse Dutil to bring her program to schools in our area. If your school would like to host Nurse Dutil for an in-person assembly, please contact us.

Our Impact

Leon Farmer and Company and the Farmer family have a long tradition of giving back. Over the years they have supported many charitable causes, including Folds of Honor, Classic Center Cultural Foundation, University of Georgia scholarship programs, community food banks, and local initiatives.
