Redhook is celebrating its 30th anniversary of brewing this year, and to commemmorate the occasion it recently revamped its packaging to a retro-style bottle and label. Redhook was the first nationally distributed craft beer brand in the U.S. and its new packaging reflects a colorful history with iconic images and phrases from the last three decades. A “beer-o-meter” on the side of the bottle easily differentiates between smooth, bold, or dark beers for drinkers.
Widmer Brothers Brewing Co. is following in its fellow brewery’s footsteps with a few changes of its own.
After almost 30 years of brewing, Widmer has unveiled a new design that highlights the “things that are most important to the brewery.” This includes the beer itself and how it should be enjoyed – in a glass! Widmer has a history of classic beer styles with non-traditional ingredients. Rob Widmer, brother and co-founder of the brewery, says, "we take brewing seriously but never want to take ourselves too seriously. Rob also said that their goal was for the packaging to respect the beer but not be too formal, while celebrating the brewers with their signatures on the package.
