Classic City Brewfest is back! This Athens Area Humane Society fundraiser is an exciting afternoon of good beer and good company in downtown Athens, GA at the Foundry Park Inn & Melting Point. This year’s Brewfest is on Sunday, April 13th, 2:30-6pm and will feature more than 350 craft beers from around the country and world, including 25 special one-off real ales located in the third annual “Cask Ale Pavilion.”
A new addition for the year is a “special treat table” just announced this week, highlighting three rare surprise ales. In the first hour of Brewfest, one of the world’s best coffee beers will be available for sampling. In the second hour, one of the world’s best farmhouse-style ales. And in the third hour… the highest-rated beer on Earth!
Brewfest sells out quickly, but tickets as well as special hotel rates are still available through the Brewfest website here. Tickets include entrance to the event from 2:30-6:00pm, a commemorative tasting mug, and unlimited samples of some of the finest beer around. Tasty local food and merchandise from breweries will also be available. If you miss out on tickets, volunteers are welcome and get to enjoy a volunteer party after the event with beer, food, t-shirts and other goodies.
Brewfest takes place rain or shine, because it’s all indoors or under tents! Please read the information on the Brewfest website regarding Brewfest parking and attendance. Most importantly, keep in mind that a good beer festival goer is a responsible one. Designate a driver before the event or coordinate a place to stay nearby, and drink plenty of water between samples. Click here for some tips for enjoying a beer festival.
